What this app does
The Unified Recall Parser reads recall emails from the team mailbox, extracts the recall details from the email body and any PDF/Word attachments, and stores the structured results in the database. The dashboard is where you review what has been processed and trigger new processing runs.
The “Processed Files” list
The left panel on the dashboard lists every document that has been parsed and saved. Each row is one source — either an email body or a single attachment — not one email. So a single recall email with two PDFs appears as up to three rows (the body plus each PDF).
What each row shows
- Type — an EMAIL badge for the email body, or a PDF badge for an attachment.
- Filename / subject — the attachment filename, or the email subject line for body rows.
- Manufacturer and tracking number — pulled from the recall document when present.
- Sender & date — who the email came from and when it was parsed.
- Status — CLEAR for a normal record, or FLAGGED_CONFLICT when the same product was found in another document with differing details (review these).
Working with the list
- Search — the box at the top filters by filename, subject, manufacturer, tracking number, or sender.
- Click a row to open it in the File Viewer on the right, which shows the extracted products plus the original document (via a secure, short-lived link).
- Delete — from the viewer you can remove a document; this also deletes its stored copy.
- The list refreshes automatically as new documents are processed.
The stats cards & File Viewer
- Total Documents — distinct email/attachment sources parsed.
- Total Products — individual recalled product records extracted across all documents.
- PDFs Parsed / Emails Parsed — counts by source type.
- File Viewer (right panel) — shows the selected document’s extracted fields and a preview of the original file.
Running the processor
- 🔍 Dry Run — checks which new emails would be processed without changing anything. Safe to run anytime; see the results on the Monitor page.
- ▶️ Run Processor Now — fetches new emails, parses them, and saves the results. New rows appear in the Processed Files list when it finishes.
- 📊 View Monitor — live processor output and the history of past runs (with per-run status and any errors).
The processor also runs automatically on a daily schedule, so manual runs are usually only needed to pick up new emails immediately.
